Program Overview

Solutions Program OverviewAbout Solutions Recovery

Founded and incorporated in 2005, Solutions Recovery is an organization dedicated to providing alcohol and other drug treatment services to men and women who are substance dependent. Solutions Recovery operates six (6) facilities in the Las Vegas area.

Solutions Recovery provides level III.5 residential treatment services to men and women ages 18 years and older. Our program operates 24 hours, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year.

Central to Solutions Recovery's mission is the understanding that addiction is a treatable disease and that its attendant medical, psychological and social problems must be addressed so that individuals may become alcohol/drug-free and enjoy a satisfying, productive life.

In order to establish a foundation for ongoing recovery from addiction, the individual must not only recognize and accept the need for abstinence from mood and mind altering chemicals but must also undergo changes in his or her behavior, attitude, values, beliefs, and lifestyle. Such changes are explored within the client’s cultural and ethical worldview.

The 12 Step Program
The 12-Step philosophy and fellowship, with its proven success in contributing to long-standing recovery, is a cornerstone of our program and provides recovery principles and tools as well as a support network for the client both during and following treatment. Within a structured, supportive therapeutic milieu, the client is assisted in shifting his or her reliance on chemicals to a reliance on self and others. Clients learn that while they may not be responsible for the disease of addiction, they are responsible for their recovery from the disease.

The Admissions Process
Prospective clients are assessed for appropriateness of treatment as well as appropriate level of care prior to admission. If the individual is accepting of treatment at our facilities, they are either admitted immediately or placed on a waiting list pending an open bed. Applicants who are assessed as needing medical detoxification are referred to appropriate facilities.

Individuals whose treatment would be more appropriate at a different facility or program would also be referred accordingly. If the person is admitted, the assessment continues during the intake process and is then completed by a Master’s prepared counselor. Every effort is made to respond to an individual’s needs.

Initial and ongoing assessments and evaluations provide a basis for formulating individualized treatment plans as well as identifying the need for any external services. Linkages with other community-based agencies are established and referrals to ancillary services are facilitated as needed.

The development of the individual treatment plan takes into consideration the client’s lifestyle, ethnic and cultural background, strengths and weaknesses, special needs, and the support systems that will enhance the person’s recovery process.

Clients and staff collaboratively assess the strengths and needs of a client to develop a treatment plan designed to reduce or eliminate emotional, behavioral and situational obstacles to recovery, enhance his or her skills and abilities to become a self-sufficient and productive member of society, and increase his or her resources in the community.

Freedom from DrugsCareful Monitoring
The client’s progress and needs are continuously evaluated and assessed throughout the treatment process with modifications made to treatment and continuing care/discharge plans.

Clients are assisted in addressing key issues critical to the maintenance of a recovery plan through an integrated approach in combination with the 12-step model, as well as and other treatment modalities and strategies including individual and group counseling, education, intra and inter-personal skill development, and relapse prevention training.

The therapeutic environment provides an arena for clients to internalize recovery concepts and tools, implement newly acquired skills, while fostering “personal empowerment” as clients learn to take responsibility for their actions and attitudes. A combination of supportive, insight oriented, and/or cognitive behavioral approaches are utilized depending upon the individual client. Additionally, where feasible, the client’s family is engaged in the treatment process.

The multi-disciplinary treatment team is comprised of Addictionologists, Alcohol, Drug and Gambling counselors, Physician Assistants, Psychiatrists, Social Workers and other certified and/or licensed professionals.

Treatment team meetings occur informally on a daily basis and formally at least once weekly. Such meetings allow for monitoring of clients progress, adjustments to treatment planning, utilization review, and interdisciplinary team interaction.

A full continuum of treatment services are offered to clients, dependent upon their individual needs as assessed at intake and throughout their participation in the program. The assignment to, and frequency of services, corresponds to individualized treatment plans within the context of the level of care and treatment intensity level.

Case Management
Case Management is facilitated by the client’s designated counselor. Ancillary needs are determined at intake and throughout a client’s treatment, with the counselor coordinating referrals to agencies providing the needed financial, legal, medical, vocational and/or other social services required.

Educational Groups
Educational Groups consist of lecture, question and answer, and general sharing. Handouts, videos and writing assignments may be used to complement the facilitator’s lecture.

Examples of groups in this category may include:

  • Addiction as a medical disease
  • Integration of treatment and a Twelve Step Program
  • Relapse prevention

General Groups
General Groups are primarily interactive groups. A facilitator focuses and guides the group in general sharing. Handouts and writing assignments may be included.

Examples of groups in this category may include:

  • Step Study Group
  • A Topic specific Group (e.g. Goals/Focus group, Culture Group, Spiritual Exploration Group, New Attitude Group)

Individual Counseling
Individual Counseling is conducted by the client’s designated counselor. Depending on length of treatment and level of care, sessions may be initially scheduled for several times a week; as the client progresses through treatment the frequency of sessions may be reduced. The focus of sessions is based on the treatment problems and goals as outlined in the client’s treatment plan.

Interactive/Speciality Groups
Interactive/Speciality Groups allow for interaction, processing and/or cross discussion between the facilitator and the group members. Handouts and writing assignments may be included.

Examples of groups in this category may include:

  • Brief Therapy
  • First Step Group
  • Men’ or Women’s Group
  • Multi-family Group
  • Recovery Process Group
  • Relapse Prevention

Random Urinalysis Testing
Random Urinalysis is provided as a means to monitor abstinence as well as serve as an ‘aid’ for those who benefit from such a mechanism. The frequency of testing may be dependent upon the client’s status (phase) in the program, drug use pattern, relapse history, and requirements as dictated by referring entity and other variables.

The 12 Step Program12 Step Meetings and Sponsership
All clients are required to meet the minimum attendance requirements as outlined in the client’s treatment plan and treatment level. Sponsorship is required of all clients and completion of the program is, in part, contingent upon client having an active working relationship with a sponsor and established ties with members of the fellowship of NA, AA, or CA.

By the time a client is ready to complete the program, it is anticipated that the client’s awareness and acceptance of his or her addiction and commitment to recovery is sufficient to expect maintenance of a recovery plan, and that he or she will be applying essential skills necessary to maintaining a drug-free lifestyle.

He or she will be able to demonstrate comprehension of the recovery concepts of the 12 Step models and will begin to utilize a 12-step program as a key component in his or her recovery process.

Other evidence of one’s readiness for completion includes:

  • The client has recognized the severity of his/her chemical use.
  • The client has an understanding of his/her self-defeating relationship with chemicals as well as vulnerabilities which could lead to relapse.
  • The client has developed a relapse prevention plan.
  • The client has met all goals identified in the individualized treatment plan.
  • A realistic and sound plan for continuing care and ongoing recovery is established.
  • Dually diagnosed clients will be able to demonstrate an increased understanding of the ways in which their psychiatric diagnosis exacerbates their addiction and the way in which the use of mood-altering drugs, including alcohol, exacerbates their psychiatric diagnosis.

Alumni Group and Benefits
Once a client has completed the program, he or she is strongly encouraged to become an active member of Solutions Recovery Alumni.

An ongoing Alumni Group is offered at no cost and all alumni are encouraged to attend these groups as well as other Solutions Recovery events and functions. Should the alumni desire individual, couples, or family counseling, arrangements can be made for a reasonable fee or appropriate referrals can be provided.
