Substance Abuse Lands Demi Moore in Hospital

Demi Moore was rushed to hospital in Los Angeles due to a “substance abuse” problem, according to reports.

US entertainment news website TMZ reports the actress — who split from her husband Ashton Kutcher in November — will be placed in a facility to seek professional treatment following the incident.

Paramedics were called to Moore’s LA home at 10.45pm on Monday (US time) and assessed her for half an hour before taking her to a local hospital.

A representative for Moore said: “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health.”

“She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends,” it added. The publicist did not immediately comment on the details reported by TMZ.
