CHRONIC PAIN PROGRAM:
The Solutions Recovery, Inc. Chronic Pain Track is an abstinence based holistic, integrated medical approach to chronic pain. Our multidisciplinary team treats the underlying injury and physical dysfunction that causes pain in a non-narcotic fashion. Our program was created with the goal of increasing function and decreasing pain while simultaneously treating the co-occurring disorder of chemical dependency. |
 |
It is our belief that pain has multiple facets which include not only physical, but also mental, emotional and spiritual components. By addressing all facets we ensure the best possibility for a positive outcome.
Since medicines/drugs are a common practice for addressing pain, chemical dependency issues must be addressed as well. Chronic pain and chemical dependency lead to a decrease in quality of life, dissatisfaction with self, family and friends, and isolation. Therefore, it is pertinent that both major issues of chronic pain and chemical dependency are treated simultaneously in a nurturing and supportive clinical environment.
Following a medical release to the Chronic Pain Program, a psycho-social assessment and a functional physical assessment is performed to determine treatment needs. Assessments drive care and the quality of care a client receives increases dramatically when the client is better understood. The Solutions Recovery, Inc. program does not force a client to fit into a presubscribed box; instead, we build a box to fit the client.
Our comprehensive program is ever-changing; we adapt to the needs of the client by treating the person as a whole and not just the symptoms. Solutions continually strives to help individuals achieve a greater quality of life by removing limitations caused by chemical dependency, injury and pain.
Multi-Dimensional Therapeutic Approach
At Solutions Recovery, Inc., we tailor our individual treatment programs to the client and his or her unique needs; we believe that each client deserves an individualized treatment approach in order to create the most effective treatment plan. Clients are assisted by a multi-disciplinary team of addictionologists, alcohol and drug counselors, chiropractors, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals that work together in evaluating the client and his or her progress throughout the program.
Client Assessment
To treat chronic pain issues, all clients receive a complete pain/functional assessment. The initial focus is to improve the overall general condition of the client. This includes decreasing pain while working towards improving flexibility, strength and endurance.
Each client will complete an assessment administered by a licensed, Master’s level clinician. The completed assessment will focus on the client’s pain as well as their level of chemical dependency. An individual treatment plan will be created for each client to ensure the maximum effectiveness of treatment.
Clients and staff continually work together to determine the needs and strengths of a client in order to develop a treatment plan designed to reduce or eliminate emotional, behavioral and situational obstacles to recovery. The treatment plan also aims to enhance the client’s skills and abilities to become a self-sufficient and productive member of society, and increase the client’s resources within the community. The client’s progress is regularly evaluated to determine if adjustments to the treatment plan are necessary or if modifications are needed for the continuing care/discharge plans.
Holistic Approach
Our approach to clinical care emphasizes the growth of all aspects of the individual--encompassing his or her cultural, economic, physical, psychological and social wellbeing. In an effort to promote physical wellbeing, we offer a variety of holistic services such as acupuncture, dietary meal plans, massage, physical therapy, spa treatments and yoga.
Holistic services are provided so that the whole person is treated rather than the chemical dependency alone. These services are provided in an effort to offer additional motivation and also to increase the client’s receptiveness to the recovery process.
Within the Chronic Pain Track, clients work with a chiropractic practitioner on a regular basis to assist with pain management and to oversee the reduction of pain symptoms.

After Care
Solutions Recovery, Inc. understands that pain management is an ongoing process that continues well after treatment has commenced. During the first two years following the completion of the program, members attend a weekly group meeting in order to strengthen the recovery process.
An Alumni Group was created to help facilitate ongoing recovery. Alumni are encouraged to attend group events and functions offered on a monthly basis. In addition, we offer an alumni blog where members can share their experiences with one another and seek continued support.
Follow-up telephone outreach and data surveys are conducted during regular intervals to proactively assist clients by determining if extra assistance is needed following treatment. |
