What is Residential Treatment?
At Solutions Recovery, our Residential Treatment Program is committed to providing alcohol and drug treatment to substance dependent adults in a safe, secure and peaceful setting.
Clients participate in a minimum of 30 hours of therapeutic activity including individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling and 12-step meetings. This is in addition to the holistic services and amenities, which includes acupuncture, massage, and personal training.
During the treatment period, individuals live in a therapeutic community where their interactions are structured so that interpersonal skills are developed and enhanced. Clients learn such skills as taking care of themselves, helping others, getting along with others, effective communication and working through maladaptive behaviors in a supportive environment.
In addition, clients are encouraged to be accountable for their actions by their peers and counselors.
Treatment providers for Solutions Recovery are caring, experienced and highly trained practitioners in their respective fields. Integrating a holistic approach, our multidisciplinary treatment team provides customized, intensive, and clinically managed treatment services.
Solutions Recovery homes are located within carefully selected, quiet, suburban neighborhoods. The homes are amply furnished to provide a comfortable and upscale living environment. Our residential treatment program is offered in the comfort of a residence rather than a more restrictive setting, such as a hospital. Click here to view our residences.
Multi-Dimensional Therapeutic Approach
At Solutions Recovery we tailor our individual treatment programs to the client and his or her unique needs; we believe that each client deserves an individualized treatment approach in order to create the most effective treatment plan. Clients are assisted by a multi-disciplinary team of addictionologists, alcohol and drug counselors, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals that work together in evaluating the client and his or her progress throughout the program.
Client Assessment
Each client will complete an assessment administered by a licensed, Master’s level clinician. The completed assessment will focus on addiction as well as cultural, employment, legal, medical, mental health and social needs. An individualized treatment plan is created with specific, measurable and realistic treatment goals. Treatment plans take into consideration the client's cultural and ethnic background, lifestyle, special needs, support systems as well as other pertinent factors.
Clients and staff continually work together to determine the needs and strengths of a client in order to develop a treatment plan designed to reduce or eliminate emotional, behavioral and situational obstacles to recovery. The treatment plan also aims to enhance the client’s skills and abilities to become a self-sufficient and productive member of society, and increase the client’s resources within the community. The client’s progress is regularly evaluated to determine if adjustments to the treatment plan are necessary or if modifications are needed for the continuing care/discharge plans.
Holistic Approach
Our approach to clinical care emphasizes the growth of all aspects of the individual--encompassing his or her cultural, economic, physical, psychological and social wellbeing. In an effort to promote physical wellbeing, we offer a variety of holistic services such as acupuncture, dietary meal plans, massage, personal exercise trainers and spa treatments.
Holistic services are provided so that the whole person is treated rather than the chemical dependency alone. These services are provided in an effort to offer additional motivation and also to increase the client’s receptiveness to the recovery process.
Introduction to the 12-Step Program
The 12-Step philosophy and fellowship, with its proven success in contributing to long-standing recovery, is a cornerstone of our program and provides recovery principles and tools as well as a support network for the client both during and following treatment. Within a structured, supportive therapeutic milieu, the client is assisted in shifting his or her dependence on chemicals to a reliance on self and others. Clients learn that while they may not be responsible for the disease of addiction, they are responsible for their recovery.
Solutions Recovery assists clients by helping them find a 12-Step group within their community as well as offering assistance in obtaining a sponsor. Every effort is made to ensure clients are part of the local recovery community and that they are aware of the services available to them.
The Physical Component
Solutions Recovery believes in caring for the individual as a whole; therefore, the client is treated for his or her chemical dependence addiction with a combination of physical services and counseling services. This is done in an effort to assist the client by alleviating as much discomfort as possible while simultaneously treating the individual for chemical dependency.
Physical components may include:
The Cognitive Component
Clients will receive education regarding the components associated with addiction. In order to obtain recovery, you must first have knowledge regarding the characteristics and physiology of addiction.
Education is offered through various means including lecture groups, interactive groups, assignments and other formats.
Cognitive components may include:
Psycho Education:
The Emotional Component
While in the Solutions Recovery Chronic Pain Program, clients work with counselors on an individual basis to discuss issues pertinent to the client and their recovery from chemical dependency. Transitional issues, relapse issues, high risk situations and underlying issues leading to chemical dependency are discussed with the client.
Emotional Components may include:
The Family Component
Family and friends struggle alongside the individual with the addiction. Underlying issues of anger, codependency, guilt and resentment are often present within families of a chemically dependent individual. Additionally, families may have issues of grief and loss associated with divorce, the death of a family member or other significant life cycle changes. Individual family counseling and group family counseling can assist the family in receiving the treatment they need in order to establish a healthy dynamic.
Families and friends are encouraged to engage in therapeutic treatment alongside the individual. We believe that family counseling is an essential component not only for successful recovery but also for the family to settle unresolved issues related to the individual and his or her addiction.
Cognitive Components for the family may include:
Emotional Components for the family may include:
The Spiritual Component
Utilizing the client’s philosophies, a spiritual component is integrated within the Solutions Recovery treatment program to help facilitate the recovery process. You will experience the healing effects yoga and meditation. Learning to balance your body, heal your mind, and develop your consciousness. Applying the knowledge and techniques that Solutions Recovery teaches you to powerfully and naturally detoxify drugs and stress from your body, adopt a healthy lifestyle, have satisfying relationships, and live your life in bliss.
Spiritual Components may include:
Random Urinalysis Testing
On a frequent basis, Solutions Recovery conducts random urinalysis tests to determine alcohol or drug presence within the sample. Testing is utilized for clients, employees and vendors. This is provided as a means to monitor abstinence as well as serves as an aid for those who benefit from such a mechanism.
After Care
Solutions Recovery understands that recovery is an ongoing process that continues well after treatment has commenced. During the first two years following the completion of the program, members attend a weekly group meeting in order to strengthen the recovery process.
An Alumni Group was created to help facilitate ongoing recovery. Alumni are encouraged to attend group events and functions offered on a monthly basis. In addition, we offer an alumni blog where members can share their experiences with one another and seek continued support.
Follow-up telephone outreach and data surveys are conducted during regular intervals to proactively assist clients by determining if extra assistance is needed following treatment.
