What is your role at Solutions?
The reason I came to Solutions, or have continued to work in this field for 18 years, is because I believe that our clients can find recovery. It may not be in our time schedule, but somewhere down the road, I believe they will find it, and I look at our jobs as planting seeds for the clients to nurture.
What is your role at Solutions?
I am counselor for IOP
What was your most rewarding moment at Solutions?
I cannot say which moment is the most rewarding because I have had many, and they come from the clients. When someone comes back to say hello after being out for a while and they are still sober and going to meetings; when someone who comes in not believing in a Higher Power finds one and takes off like a rocket into a recovery program; when I can get someone into residential despite the insurance protocol that says they have to fail first before going into residential. Many, many wonderful moments.
Where are you from?
Reno, Nevada
If you could spend one day in another persons shoes, who would you be and why?
If I could spend one day in another person’s shoes: I would like to be in the President’s shoes, only if I could make policy despite traditional protocol. I would change our country’s priorities to put emphasis on those who are suffering, homeless, mental health, domestic violence, hunger, and focus on that rather than trying to save the world. We need to have our country strong first.
If you could have the staring role in any movie, what would it be?
Sleepless in Seattle because I loved it.
What one piece of advice would you give the 16 year old you?
I would tell the 16 year old me to focus on college and forget the boys.
What is your perfect Saturday afternoon?
Spending it with my grandkids and/or my dogs. I love going to the movies with the kids, or going to the lake or even going out for a 4-wheel drive.
What is the best part of your day?
The best part of my day is when I wake up and go outside and the world is still asleep.
If you had a magic lamp and a genie who granted you 3 wishes, what would the 3 wishes be?
Health, happiness and prosperity
If your house was on fire, what one thing would you take with you?
I would take my dogs first or die trying to get them out!!!!!
